Gentle Landings

Gentle Landings is the latest recording from Paddy Burgin and the Wooden Box Band. Recorded at Wellington’s Surgery studio under the guidance of Lee Prebble, Paddy and the band mine the stories and places of New Zealand for song and instrumental subject matter. Little Bushman members Tom Callwood and his brother Joe handle bass and archtop electric guitars duties. Organ and antique electro piano colour is provided by James Coyle from Nudge, with Bruce McNaught on percussion and Holly Beals on backing vocals. Together they take listeners to the wild Wairau Bar, soaring with an acrobatic angel, being shipwrecked in the sub Antarctic and swirling mountain streams.
