Steel String & Resonator

At Burgin Guitars, we are passionate about crafting exceptional steel string and resonator guitars that meet the unique needs of discerning musicians. Our dedication to craftsmanship has led us to create a diverse range of instruments, including one-of-a-kind studio guitars, travel-friendly designs, and faithful recreations of antique styles and Central American instruments. Every guitar is built with precision, artistry, and a deep understanding of musical heritage.

Steel string acoustic guitars first appeared in the late 19th century when luthiers adapted classical designs to accommodate steel strings, creating a brighter, more dynamic sound with greater volume — perfect for the growing popularity of folk, blues, and country music. By the 1920s, resonator guitars transformed the music scene. Invented by John Dopyera to amplify sound before the advent of electric guitars, these instruments used internal metal cones to project louder tones. Initially favored by vaudeville performers, resonators soon became synonymous with blues and bluegrass, celebrated for their distinctive metallic sound and slide-playing versatility. At Burgin Guitars, we honor this rich tradition while infusing each handcrafted guitar with modern innovation and personalized detail, ensuring your instrument is as unique as your sound.

All Burgin guitars come with a premium hard case, ensuring your instrument is well-protected for a lifetime of music-making.
